Yvette Tan

Therapist

Yvette is an experienced therapist with expertise working somatically with trauma. She integrates Somatic Experiencing, attachment theories and narrative approaches in her work.

For the last decade, she worked as a family therapist at IMH — a public psychiatric hospital in Singapore. She supported individuals, couples and families who have been impacted by past stressful or traumatic experiences of abuse in family or marriage, bullying, unexpected trauma, and those struggling with mental health conditions. She also provides individual and group clinical supervision and consultation to social workers and psychotherapists. Passionate for OCD work, Yvette continues to co–facilitate monthly online OCD Caregiver support groups organised by the OCD Network.

Yvette was previously a school counsellor at Nanyang Polytechnic and also worked in two Family Service Centres providing counselling and case management. While in Perth for five years, Yvette ran Circle of Security ® parenting workshops, conducted autism assessments and assisted stay–home mums struggling with parenting children with developmental delay. She specialised in Family and Domestic Violence, providing individual counselling and ran support groups to both victims and perpetrators of violence.
