Meeta Gupta Hari
Meeta is an experienced counsellor who tailors her approach to meet the unique needs of each person.
Meeta is a trauma‑informed counsellor who brings a calm, grounded presence to her work with children, adolescents, and adults. Her approach is shaped by Internal Family Systems (IFS), where she supports clients in exploring the different emotional ‘parts’ within – with each part having its own story, protective role, or wound. Through this lens, she helps clients relate to themselves with greater compassion and clarity.
Her work is particularly focused on the impact of developmental trauma – the kind that arises from early relational disruptions, emotional neglect, or chronic stress in childhood. These early experiences often shape how individuals see themselves, relate to others, and manage emotions later in life. Using IFS and Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Meeta works gently to support clients in healing these deeper wounds, integrating fragmented experiences, and restoring a sense of inner safety. In addition, Meeta incorporates somatic techniques and mindfulness practices into her work.
In addition to her internal work with clients, Meeta takes a systemic view – recognising that struggles are not just personal, but relational and contextual. She helps clients make sense of their experiences within the broader systems of family, school, workplace, and culture. This dual lens, both internal and external, allows her to hold the complexity of each person’s story with depth and nuance.
Meeta supports people with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, low self‑worth, self‑harm, identity confusion, managing transitions, and the emotional impact of parental separation or high‑pressure environments. She has extensive experience in working with young people and parents in international and cross‑cultural settings. When working with children, she thoughtfully incorporates elements of play therapy to keep sessions engaging and developmentally appropriate for her younger clients. She also supports parents in reflecting on intergenerational patterns and fostering more connected, attuned relationships with their children.
Before becoming a therapist, Meeta worked in the corporate sector in India, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Her experience in fast‑paced, competitive environments adds insight into the psychological cost of high‑functioning stress and the importance of sustainable emotional well‑being.
Clients describe Meeta as thoughtful, compassionate, and insightful. She creates a safe and reflective space where individuals can better understand themselves, heal from past wounds, and move towards a more integrated and connected way of being. Meeta is available for consultations Monday to Friday 9 am - 6 pm.
