In Singapore, he used to work as a social worker at the macro level, covering social policy and service development for the disability population, and at the micro level, helping incarcerated youths and those beyond parental control with their residential rehabilitation and reintegration back to their families and communities. He also volunteered at Oogachaga as an honorary programme director and counsellor for the LGBTI communities. He subsequently relocated to London and worked as a psychotherapist in various child and adult mental health clinical settings.

Since December 2022, he has temporarily relocated to Thailand to pursue a PhD in Buddhist Studies. He aspires to integrate Buddhist and psychotherapy practices in Singapore and worldwide.
